About Me

Art is all around us. Inspiration can be found anywhere and an unlimited number of mediums and materials can be used to create the visual you want to portray. The medium you select, the subject matter you choose, and the style you choose can all play a part in the message you want to send.

I have many interests, educational backgrounds, and pursuits that I want to tackle and experience.  Having a vast interest in the world around you and what it takes to create this world we live in can help to drive your life.

My background starts growing up in a rural Mid-Western town, discovering a passion for art and creativity, and working towards finding out all I could about as many mediums as I could.  Two of my early passions were in Fashion Design and Photography, for which I achieved degrees in both.  Combining these interests has produced a 20+ year career in retail visuals for some of the top retailers in the country at their flagship doors (Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Brooks Brothers, Neiman Marcus, and Polo Ralph Lauren). 

In my career as a visual stylist and manager I developed my skills in  styling, visuals, production, and people management that then developed other interests in costuming (shows like Annie, Hairspray, West Side Story, and some or HS dance program shows), multi-media 3D art (make-up, ceramics, sculpture, alternative material sculpture), painting (acrylic, oil, watercolor, mural), and teaching others of my interests and bettering their performance. 

My interests in art and noticing the lack of art education in todays classrooms has fueled me to return to school and seek a degree in Art Education to not only further my knowledge in various mediums and the arts but to then be better equipped to teach others and inspire the next generation of artists.

My inspiration and interests don’t stop there, due to my work in theatre and the performing arts I have developed an interest in acting, voice over and performing.  We as individuals should always challenge ourselves and always stay inspired to do and create new things.  No matter what you do in this world or what you provide to the environment you are in, always… HAVE FUN!
